It’s
2005. It’s time you stopped driving all over creation and
started shopping for furniture online. Sorry…just a little
wake-up call for those of you with a home office and a small business
to run. Time is money, right? If shopping for furniture
online saves you time, and it
surely will, then it’s saving you $$ as well. And if your office
schedule is anything like mine, you don’t have nearly enough of
either!
Figure out what you need before
shopping for furniture online
The
“best” way to waste money and time while shopping for furniture for your office
is to go about it without a plan. So start by walking through your
workspace and visualizing what you need, where you need it, and how
much room you have for it.
Next,
sit down and come up with a realistic business budget, so you’ll
quickly be able to pick and choose the right furniture when you shop
online. Most
of the time, offices will need (at least) the following:
computer desks, office chairs, file cabinets, bookcases, desk
accessories, and a myriad of office supplies.
Finally, armed with the previous information and a plan, start surfing
for furniture online. Once you’re in the trenches, so to speak,
never lose sight of your office furniture goals. It’s very easy to get
sidetracked and end up purchasing some cool (but utterly useless)
stuff. Don’t do it! Stick to the plan: desk, chair, filing cabinet,
bookcase. No lava lamps!
