Would a
computer armoire be useful in your office?
The idea behind a computer armoire is
brilliant. You can open the doors on any armoire for an instant home office, then
close them when you’re through working for a beautiful piece of
furniture. With an armoire, your office space suddenly becomes
an extra room.
Some reasons why an
armoire might not belong in your office
If you have long
legs, you might find that a computer armoire makes you too cramped while working.
There generally isn’t much room to stretch your
legs, and many armoires even include recommendations that you place your
printer or other supplies on shelves under your keyboard, further
limiting legroom. A traditional desk might suit you better.
If your desk is a
mess right now, a computer armoire will not miraculously make your
office cleaner. Instead, you will likely just bring your mess to
your new piece of furniture. The doors of the armoire will never be closed for the
neat look, and you are giving up much needed space. Know yourself well enough
to honestly assess if you're capable of keeping an armoire clean.
Who are computer armoires best for?
People who are shorter in stature, those who rarely use their office at home,
and people who
only use their computer for games, email, and internet surfing. These
people will not miss the additional space, and they generally don’t
clutter up a desk as much.
