Using a Quality Writing Desk in Your Home Office
You might consider
using a writing desk in your home office. There are several
convenient uses for such a desk: writing checks, correspondence
(assuming you aren’t 100% digital by now!), organizing a project,
storing desk accessories in an easily accessible location, and much
more.
Writing desks make
excellent second desks in home offices, especially busy, cluttered
ones. Typically, a writing model will be significantly smaller than a
computer or office desk, so it fits into spaces that might otherwise
go unused. You might as well de-clutter a bit by using that extra
surface area for better organization.
Here’s a good
strategy if you spend a lot of time at your main office desk. Buy and
keep a writing desk next to the main one and spread out a bit more.
You may be surprised by how much that extra desk space makes a
difference. The idea is to not limit the uses by thinking the name
implies you must use it only for actual writing.
A good writing desk
is versatile, especially for home uses. It’s lighter and more easily
moved than bigger office desks, so it can quickly pull double duty in
a guest bedroom if you’re having company for a few days. Most of them
are also very beautiful pieces of furniture, so they complement any
room in your house.
In my home office, I
use a writing desk as both a printer stand and fax stand, as well as
storing some supplies that I need quick access to. This helps me
spread the essential equipment I need out to keep my office running
smoothly and efficiently. And I still have room left over on the desk
for writing out bills and the occasional letter!
