Find desks that
make your office more functional
If you think desks
are supposed to be cluttered in a home office, think again! You just need a
desk to get you organized and make you more productive while you work.
If you are short
on space, corner desks are an excellent option. If you get one for
your office at home, do not use it for your printer, fax, etc. – even if
there are compartments for it. You will feel cramped and cluttered.
Use a nearby shelf unit or buy a utility cart to keep your extra devices handy.
If you don’t have enough room on
your current desk in your office to comfortably write, it's time for a bigger one!
L-shaped desks are
very functional for your office at home. You can have two workspaces in
one place with plenty of space for printers and desk accessories.
Hutches almost always come
off the desk section, so that's another option. If you are
tight on space in your home office and considering a hutch for extra
storage space, you might be taking away much needed desk space if you don't
keep the hutch part light enough to move when needed.
Consider a rolling file cabinet or tray with shelves instead.
